Description: Saw Palmetto Berries are from the Saw Palmetto Fan Palm, belonging to the Palmae family. It is a bushy palm with large, yellow-green leaves forming a crown. Its flowers are inconspicuous and cream colored, and fruit is deep purple to almost black.

Culinary Uses: To make a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon of Saw Palmetto berries, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.

Medicinal Uses: Saw palmetto berry is thought to help nourish glandular tissue, and to nutritionally support the prostate gland. Used for wasting diseases. Also considered useful for diseases of the reproductive glands and organs, and it used to support mucous membranes, as well as for treating bronchitis and lung asthma.

Precautions and Adverse Reactions: Do not use Saw Palmetto berries if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
