Description: Strawberry is a herbaceous perennial plant, belonging to the Rosaceae family. It has a rhizome that is cylindrical and several stems rise from the root. Each stem bears three fan shaped, sharp toothed, dark green leaves with long runners growing from their axils. The small flowers have five pure white petals and prominent yellow centers that appear in clusters. After flowering the receptacles turns into a small fleshy, scarlet cone shaped berries that is studded with tiny, brown seeds.

Culinary Uses: Strawberry leaf tea tastes similar to black tea and can be used as a caffeine-free substitute. Strawberry leaves have been known to be used to flavor soup stock. To make a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon of Strawberry Leaf, cover and steep 5 minutes.
Medicinal Uses: Strawberry leaves can be used to tonify the female reproductive system. Strawberry Leaf is also used for anemia, diarrhea, dysentery, eczema and jaundice.
