Description: Papaya is a high bushy tree, belonging to the Caricaceae family. It has an unbranched trunk with spongy soft wood and hollow in the center, large and palm shaped leaves that terminate in sharp tips, light yellow flowers, and yellow-green thick and fleshy fruit that contains numerous black wrinkled seeds. Papaya contains an enzyme called papain.
