Description: Whole Decorticated Cardamom Seed is the dried and peeled, unripened fruit of the Ellararia Cardamomum, a perennial plant belonging to the Zingiberaceae family. Cardamom is an aromatic spice, with a warm, spicy-sweet flavor and an exotic floral aroma. The fruit of the cardamom plant is a light green oval pod containing three chambers that can hold up to twenty small black seeds.

Culinary Uses: For the best flavor, heat the Cardamom Seed in a frying pan and cook the seeds until roasted. Cardamom Seed are used to flavor cakes, gingerbreads, apple pie, candies, cordials, liqueurs and spiced wine, bitters, curries, rice dishes, pickles, sausages and hamburgers. It is also a flavoring in drinks including chai teas, egg nog, and Arabic-style coffee (add a small amount of ground cardamom to ground espresso before brewing).
