Description: Allspice is the dried unripened berry from the Eugenia Pimenta, a tropical evergreen belonging to the Myrtaceae family, with aromatic bark, leaves, and berries. Whole Allspice is the dried unripened berry of the Allspice tree. It has a warm peppery taste that resembles a combination of Cinnamon, Cloves and Nutmeg. Allspice contains vitamin C, vitamin B-1, vitamin B-2 and beta carotene. The whole dried berry is used in cooking and in making potpourris.
