Frankincense Gum Powder (Gum Olibanum) - BOSWELLIA SERRATA
Description: Frankincense Gum, also known as Boswellia or Olibanum, is purified resin made from the gum harvested from the Boswellia Serrata tree, belonging to the Burseraceae family. The Boswellia Serrata tree is a moderately large branching tree that grows in the hilly regions of India. Collection of the gum begins by incising the tree bark. Just beneath the bark is an oleogum resin and water mixture which exudes from the incision. This liquid mixture forms sticky globules or tears as the water portion evaporates in the hot sun.
