Description: Garlic is a perennial herb belonging to the Liliaceae family, which includes the onion and chive. It has long and thin flat leaves, small umbels of white-rose flowers, and an underground clustered bulb made up of several cloves enclosed in a smooth white thin papery tunic. Garlic is a powerful natural antibiotic.

Part Used: Bulbs ground Culinary Uses: Garlic Powder disperses easily in liquids and is a good for dishes where you would like flavor, but not texture. Garlic Powder can be substituted for fresh garlic. Use 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder in place of a fresh garlic clove.
Medicinal Uses: Garlic is considered to provide nourishment for the circulatory, immune and urinary systems. It is considered a natural antibiotic and fungicide, and to aid the body's natural ability to resist disease. It is used to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive conditions, as a supportive during colds and infections, to aid in arthritis, and for weak digestion.
