Description: Lavender is a aromatic perennial evergreen plant belonging to the Labiateae (Lamiaceae) family. It has a branched, woody stem with narrow bluish-green leaves, and spikes of tiny and fragrant, purple-blue, two-lipped flowers. The dried flowers of the Lavender plant add long-lasting fragrance to sachets and potpourris, scented soaps, perfumes and aromatic tobaccos.

Culinary Uses: Lavender is used as a flavoring agent and can be added in small amounts to salads, fruit dishes, stews, soups, breads, cookies, shortbread, jams, candies, and sorbet. Lavender is an ingredient in the Herbes de Provence blend. To make a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon of Whole Lavender Flowers, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.
Medicinal Uses: Lavender is thought to help ease nervous tension and stress, as well as with headaches and mild indigestion.
