Description: Gotu Kola is a herbaceous perennial, blonging to the Umbelliferae (Apiaceae) family. It is a umbelliferous plant, developing many roots, a long slender stem having thin, tiny fan-shaped leaves, and has red flowers that turn into fruit. Gotu Kola is an herb commonly used in Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine.

Culinary Uses: To make a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon of Gotu Kola Herb, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.

Medicinal Uses: Gotu Kola is used for mental troubles such as depression, anxiety, and to help improve memory. Gotu Kola is said to enhance vitality throughout the body, and is considered nourishing to the nervous system. It is considered to improve blood flow and promote the healing of wounds and burns, and aid the body in defending itself against toxins and drugs.

Precautions and Adverse Reactions: Do not use Gotu Kola if you are pregnant.
