Description: Hawthorn Berries come from the English Hawthorn, a deciduous small tree belonging to the Rosaceae family. It has hard wood, thorny branches with glossy yellow-green leaves, white flowers that look like roses with each blossom possessing a single seed vessel producing a separate fruit, which when ripe is a brilliant red berry.

Culinary Uses: Hawthorn Berries can be made into jam or added to soup.

Medicinal Uses: Hawthorn is considered to have a powerful effect on the circulatory system, and is thought helpful as a supportive for blood pressure. It is sometimes used for stress and insomnia. Hawthorn is also used to help strengthen joint lining, collagen and spinal discs.
