Description: Peppermint is a perennial herbaceous plant, belonging to the Labiateae (Lamiaceae) family. It has long and running roots, a smooth square stem with thick lance shaped dark green leaves, and it is topped by a leafless spike of violetto purple flowers. The entire plant has a very characteristic odor, due to the menthol that is present in every part.
