Description: Summer Savory is an aromatic shrubby annual herb, belonging to the Labiateae (Lamiaceae) family. It has a bushy, hairy stem that divides above the ground, ark green needle shaped leaves, and ight whitish violet flowers that appear in bunches, followed by nut-shaped, dark brown or black seeds. The entire plant is highly aromatic and has a spicy scent and taste.

Culinary Uses: Summer Savory enhances almost any savory dish. It goes well with soups, stews, bean dishes of any sort, succotash, cabbage, and sauerkraut. It is commonly used to flavor sausage and salami. Savory is an ingredient in Herbs de Province blends. Savory should be added towards the end of the cooking cycle for optimum flavor. To make a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon of Savory Leaf, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.
