Description: Wild Cherry Bark is from the Wild Black Cherry tree, a member of the Rosaceae family. It is a deciduous tree with fragrant white petals, black and rough bark that separates naturally from the trunk, with an aromatic inner bark. It has the odor of almonds, which almost disappears on drying. Its taste is aromatic and bitter.

Medicinal Uses: Wild Cherry Bark is considered to be a very useful expectorant and is best known as a remedy for chronic dry, irritable coughs and bronchitis. It is therefore thought to be useful for illnesses that have lung congestion. The bark is boiled down into a syrup.
