Description: Yellow Dock is a perennial plant, belonging to the Polygonaceae family. It is a small, leafy plant that has a stout yellowish-brown root, which accounts for its common name. The root is thick, fleshy,and usually not forked. The stem is branched with long lance shaped leaves that are slightly ruffled along their edges. Yellowdock Root is a bitter herb noted for its high iron content.
