Today marks the first day of a new season, the Autumn Equinox. The leaves here in Portland are just beginning to change from a sea of green to beautiful hues of red, orange, and yellow. Last week The Ocean Cleanup    (www.theoceancleanup.com) launched its System 001 from the San Francisco bay to travel 350 miles offshore to clean up the Great Pacific Garbage patch.
